we've started recording our video, so far, we have completed a whole recording of our artist (i.e me) playing a pianno in a room with black fabric around her.

we did around about four or five takes of this section of the video to give us variety of shots and quality. The problems we have encountered during this is that, the video qaulity was very poor and their were several moments where the video would blur due to zooming in or moving the camera (i.e panning/tilting); also, one of the takes we did which we as a group concidered was the best take got recoreded over by another group that took the camera we used for that recording without the teacher knowing, and so we felt it was neccessary for us to try another take and see if we could get that same recording back.

Another major problem we are facing is that one of our team members has not been fully commiting her time and effort to the making of our videos, we fully respect that she has problems doing some overtime to get extra work done, however we feel as though she is just making excuses as we all have problems and we all have felt like not attending one of the sessions but felt we should come in anyway to get the work done as we need to work as a team in order to achieve the highest grade we can.

these are some images i found during our group research that me and fellow team mates found would make a good contribution to the video.

we were thinking of having some of the lines from the lyrics flashin across in the video or fading in and out. they will be almost transparent so you can just about see what they say but aren't going to be really visible...we're hopin this will be one of the ways we can draw attention.







this image of the room is the most important aspect of the video as we will use it the video. The female character we want is going to be greenscreened into the room playing the pianno.

it's been a couple of weeks since our last group discussion about our music videos, me & my group have had to leave it for a while due to our exams.

now that we're back on track, we have found the lyrics, and after analysing them we have decided to start ookin for possible areas where we can film.

an idea i suggested to the group is The ridgeway, erdington where the whole of one side of the road is a graveyard. We want a haunting element in the video to corrolate with the song and so i feel the graveyard would make an important contribution to that.

As we have just got back we are havin a little trounle gettin our ideas back into our heads, however with the recap session we had today, we have recovered all our thoughts and are now aiding some more ideas.

A major change has occured to our group, we have a new member to our group who we are hoping would make a good contribution to the making of the video. As she has just joined us we have to get her into our ideas and see how she can help.

Ideas...

Me and my group have decided to use Eliza Lumleys 'Street Spirit' for our music video and have started doing some research on how we want to make it (i.e content= setting, lighting, colourscheme, etc).

During my research I found a few images that have inspired me with ideas i have discussed with my group and it's likely that we're going to use them.

So far, we vision our video to be slow, haunting (due to the song), we want to have sentences going across the screen (most likely lyrics from the song, these will be ghostly and almost transparent), we are going to have a female artist in the middle of a room ressed in a classy dress playing the pianno, there are gonna be memories being projected on the walls of the room (behind her), hopefully if all goes well then we want to pan around her so we can see the images that are being projected and ofcourse this will help to create a hectic atmosphere to show the thoughts that are in her head...only they will be showing outside.

We have managed to get a pianno we could use, also, one of my team members has agreed to be the female artist for our vieo, we have some dresses that she could use for the costume we want. We have decided to use a greyscale colourscheme for the memories, the artist will be in gold or red playing an intique coloured pianno so she can be the central focus of the video as she will be in colour.

One of the images i found was of an abondanned room with a fireplace that we want to use in the video, this is possible with green-screaning, if we will be able to get the technology we require. As our ideas are still in progress, we have not got a complete vision of the video, however we have an inspirational idea and would like to carry it out as it is so far.

The only problem we are having is finding lyrics for the song. The lyrics are valueable for helping with ideas for the song and ofcourse for the female artist in our video who will be mimicking the words as if she were singing.

During our group research of unsigned artists, i came across eliza lumley, jem cookes, ben adams and a few other artists. These artists all fall into the jazz genre. I found their music is quite instrumental and delicate and so if we were to make a video for them it would be quite slow and would have to pay attention to detail.

Eliza Lumeleys music is very slow and moving and is quite haunting, the audience is drawn into her songs by having to pay very close attention to her voice in particular because she almost sounds like she's whispering, and her voice is very delicate.
What i found is that one of her tracks 'street spirit' has been pirated from a band; their version is called radio street spirit, which i found during my research for her lyrics on 'you-tube'. The band have made a video for their track. The video is black and white and quite slow, but it has clashes of fast pace things happening; there are certain characters that the camera concentrates on that break through because what they are doing is fast and full of energy.

This has given me and my fellow colleages some ideas of how to put our own video together and what we could include in it.

Busta Rhymes-I Love My Chick

The narrative for this music video was clearly inspired by the movie 'Mr & Mrs Smith', starring Brad Pitt and Angela Jollie; however, although there is alot of action and the whole video is explosive and shows a fight between two "lovers", the comedy genre is stronger, and makes the video more appealing as the director has changed the race of the charatcters. Another thing that makes it humourus is the fact that the stars featured in it don't really fit into their roles that much, ie, busta has a meanny, bad boy, blingy, gangster image and does not fit into the role he is given 9in this video because it is more lovy dovey, etc.
